Laboratory Sales Associate

MiraVista Diagnostics (MVD) is seeking a full time Laboratory Sales Associate. This position is responsible for building and nurturing a viable pipeline of prospects that generates profitable new revenue for the company. This includes networking and building relationships with new potential buyers and influencers from the human medical and veterinary medicine markets (i.e. other diagnostic/ reference laboratories, hospital laboratories, university medical schools, government agencies, ID focused medical practices and veterinary clinics) as well as cultivating relationships with MVD’s past/ current accounts to identify and generate additional revenue opportunities.



  • Work with Sales Director to identify past and current accounts with additional revenue opportunities
  • Work with Sales Director to profile target buyers and influencers from each market segment (human medical and veterinary medicine) and for each diagnostic service
  • Cold call organizations, companies and individuals to identify target buyers and influencers and qualify prospects
  • Actively call on assigned Key Accounts with the goal of developing and maintaining effective customer relationships. Work to ensure overall customer satisfaction, seek ways to facilitate improved customer experience and ensure customer retention.
  • Develop and maintain a database of prospects and networking/sales activities in MVD’s CRM system
  • Network and cultivate relationships with prospects and current/past customers to identify and generate revenue opportunities
  • Represent MVD at ~1 industry tradeshow, event or conference each month (requires overnight and/or weekend travel)
  • Respond to in-bound questions, concerns and requests from prospects and current/past customers interested in new/additional services. Qualify and prioritize sales leads and resolve/communicate and/or escalate issues to Sales Director
  • Facilitate biennial customer satisfaction survey to elicit valuable feedback and identify new revenue opportunities from existing accounts
  • Assist Sales Director in preparing price quotes, contracts, presentations and proposals
  • Liaise with MVD’s administrative and clinical laboratory teams to on-board new accounts
  • Coordinate onsite visits with prospects and current/past customers to generate interest in MVD’s services and facilitate new sales
  • Work with the Sales Director and marketing team to identify diagnostic services, scientific information and industry issues of interest to target buyers and influencers
  • Join professional groups and/or attend events to promote MVD and establish a network of potential buyers and influencers (including online groups via LinkedIn, etc.)


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with cold calling, qualifying sales leads and identifying key decisions makers
  • Familiarity with clinical diagnostics laboratory service environment and operations
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with good organizational skills
  • Understanding of health sciences such as infectious disease, epidemiology, or biotechnology
  • Prior experience with CRM systems (i.e. Salesforce)
  • Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (products, sales/marketing material, etc.) and set up tradeshow booth
