Research Laboratory Assistant

Summary of Responsibilities

Perform duties associated with support of research laboratory operations and functions.
Responsible for compliance with MiraVista Diagnostics’ policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To meet standards of this position, personnel must be able to perform each essential duty with proficiency.

• Preparation of solutions, reagents or media.
• Specimen processing, storing, or shipping and sample set preparation.
• Equipment function checks and related functional verification with data entry for various pieces of laboratory equipment.
• Laboratory equipment preventative maintenance tasks.
• Executing or assisting in execution of laboratory equipment validations.
• General maintenance of laboratory including cleanliness of benches, washing dishes, equipment, stocking laboratory supplies and proper waste disposal.
• Basic office related tasks such as filing documents, entry and scheduling in Master Control database management.
• Ensure work is aligned with all relevant quality requirements.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• Strong data entry and computer skills with attention to detail, proficient in use of Microsoft Office products
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to follow instruction and comply with procedures related to quality, safety and security
• Must be able to work productively and independently in an interdisciplinary team environment.

Education and Experience

• Experience in the use of data management software
• Bachelor of Science degree
• Or Associate in Science degree and 2 years of Laboratory experience
• Or 5 years of Laboratory experience
